Why do people think intelligence is so important?

Are not wisdom and knowledge far more useful. IQ tests on trial intellectual people, but there are many more important things to the intellect as love and happiness. Intelligence seems to be what we are all trying, but we should not seek balance instead of just one thing. A balance between intellect and creativity, passion and opinion, etc.

pk Hello, I've been watching with interest their many questions. Do not you think that people tend to think about things that many others do not? Most people will be very fascinated by someone who can do something fast. Is not this what is intelligence? The ability to do something quickly? Intelligence tests are timed and you get the most points to get more correct answers quickly. I think they are trying to predict how things will focus on all of study and learning, in real life. To answer the first question I would say people feel it is important because it predicts someones mental efficiency. At least in the tests. But the tests have an operational set of assumptions. The first is that all are equally competent in the things that the evidence is being measured. Like the ability to read and write. There is also the relative balance between the use people long-term memory and short-term and between thought quickly and completely. Some are smart, they may reach conclusions quickly and feels confident enough to put the answer down and continue. Others are always questioning things and tend to have very little confidence. For them, trust is a bad thing. They are looking for what everyone can easily get lost because they are only good in search of the usual answers quickly. See definition of genius. A definition is for someone who has an IQ over 140 (or 180 in another measure.) 1 Other definitions require creativity, individuality or uniqueness.2 And he recognizes that some acknowledged that "genius" may even include people who have ever break the limitations in mental function and socialization.2 With regard to knowledge, sometimes call the person who manages the office copier or our auto mechanic a "genius" when they apply their knowledge and intuition to PROBEM find quickly. Wisdom is something difficult to define. I do not think it's as common as some people believe. Some would say that when I stay at home when I'm sick I'm the exercise of the "wisdom" but I think it is repeated experience. For me, wisdom is more akin to magic or intuition. Often I suspect that its best application is patience. I do not think that "effort" for intelligence as much as I admire. There is a belief that intelligence is fixed and we can only reduce the possible constraints (such as wild emotions) and temporary physical problems (such as lack of sleep). But love and happiness, are often our ultimate objectives. We use the intelligence, wisdom and knowledge to pursue our goals. All of them are useful. The problem is that when we lack tent to try to fill it with others inappropriately. And yes, lack of intelligence, wisdom and knowledge will often do just fine. The balance between these three things is good, but when I'm always with a hammer to do the task I tend to be vague enough to keep wanting to use the tool in the hand forget other possibilities. And sometimes a hammer is the best tool. You can do much with a hammer. The intelligence is also sometimes the best tool. Also alike, at times must put love, passion, trial, intellect, creativity and even short-term happiness aside. It is good that we have all these options because people have different tools in their personal toolboxes. A wise person can fight for more options. A wise person can choose the best option without having to go too many negative experiences. We tend to think that ours is the best combination, even when it is severely unbalanced. Unfortunately, everyone "sees the world through the light in their eyes. "

What would it take to get Yahoo and Google to allow freedom of information about Tibet in China?

Yahoo and Google agree to the demands of the Chinese Government to censure the information about the truth of the repression and destruction of Tibetan culture and tradition of the Dali Lama. They do this for entry into Chinese lucrative markets, but how can we as consumers who care make our voices heard at Google and Yahoo that their position to go along with the Chinese Government demands limiting information on the massive genocide, jailing, killing and destruction of Buddhist culture in Tibet is sadly lacking in courage and creativity in dealing with the Chinese Government?

We have a lot less power than Google and Yahoo, and China’s government has more power than them combined. WE won’t be doing anything. If Google and Yahoo were to change their minds, they wouldn’t be doing business in China, and they want business in China, like you so succinctly put it.

It’s their struggle, we should let them wage it. It’s really not our business.
